This contemporary American play examines the creative process through parallel narratives: Beethoven’s composition of the Diabelli Variations and musicologist Katherine Brandt’s quest to understand why he wrote them. As Katherine battles ALS, the play explores profound questions about artistic obsession, mortality, and the meaning we create in the face of inevitable loss.
